Dr. Scott Guthrie

Orofacial Pain Specialist

Dr. Scott Guthrie treats each patient with expertise and empathy. His passion for chronic pain management began in dental school when he saw a gap in the understanding of treatment options for this unique group of patients. After suffering through years of jaw pain and being dismissed by other healthcare providers, he understands firsthand how frustrating and debilitating chronic facial pain can be. He wants to provide personalized care, attention, and understanding in a field that has historically left patients feeling frustrated and unheard.

After graduating from LECOM School of Dental Medicine in 2023, he then went on to complete a two year residency training program in Orofacial Pain at the University of Kentucky. While in residency, Dr. Guthrie was trained in the non-surgical management of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders, Neuropathic Pain conditions such as Trigeminal Neuralgia and Burning Mouth Syndrome, as well as Headache Disorders and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. He is board certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain.

His patients describe him as a wonderful listener, kind, and gifted in diagnosing and educating.

Dr. Guthrie grew up in Rockford, IL where he met his wife Savannah — who he has been married to for 8 years. They have a beautiful daughter Miriam and two cats: Moses and Wally. In his free time he enjoys snowboarding, board games and studying Japanese.

Ben Ray

Technical and Administrative Assistant

Ben brings the perfect balance of fun and professionalism to our office. He supports patients at the front desk with scheduling and check-ins, while also working behind the scenes assisting with procedures and scans. With a natural ability to anticipate the team’s needs, Ben plays a key role in keeping our office running smoothly.

He is currently working toward a degree in business management and has a background as a veterinary technician. In his free time, Ben enjoys traveling, cooking new foods with his girlfriend, Amanda, and caring for his three adorable cats—Nala, Biscuit, and Gravy.

Clara is dedicated to ensuring each of our patients feels seen, heard, and are well educated in their treatment options. Her goal is to put patients at ease and limit their anxieties. From the check-in process to the final visit, she is here to help your experience in our office be a smooth and wonderful one.

Savannah Guthrie

Adminstrative Director

Savannah works hard behind the scenes to support her husband, Dr.Guthrie, and their office. She’s happy to fill in where needed, whether that’s running payroll, ordering supplies, cleaning, or being moral support for staff. With backgrounds in service, hospitality, and marketing, she brings a warm presence to the office and makes sure everyone has what they need to excel in their role.

When not at work, you can often find her at an ice rink working toward her goals in figure skating, which she picked up as an adult. She also enjoys painting, graphic design, traveling, and spending time with her daughter Miriam.

We tried multiple options during my intake instead of guessing at what script to give me and having me return in 6 weeks. He has been transparent about costs and very willing to coordinate with my other doctors so the plan stays holistic and affordable. Most importantly, he is careful not to make anything worse. I recently lost someone very dear to me with to chronic head pain and wish she had had access to care like this.
